One God, One Human Race

Noah’s descendants said,  “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole world.”
GENESIS 11:4

God said,  “Come…let us confuse their language so they will not understand each other… So the Lord scattered them… over all the earth and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel.”
GENESIS 11:7, 8

Tower of Babel

After the Tower of Babel, as humans gathered to build cities in the Middle East,
Babylon emerged as a center of an opulent, pagan life-style, completed with
decorative Hanging Gardens. This Ishtar Gate, c. 575 B.C,
was one of eight, guarding the city.
