ROMANS 1:17
“God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ,
even when we were dead in transgressions—
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith–
And this, not from yourselves it is the gift of God
—not by works.”
Ephesians 2:4, 8
Martin Luther, the courageous churchman who put his life on the line to pioneer the Reformation, is remembered for his declaration of faith: “Here I stand, I can do no other, so help me God.” Also, a talented musician, Luther composed the majestic sermon in song, “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” five centuries ago. Young musicians, from Canada’s Fountain View Academy, deliver a stirring arrangement of this classic.
“God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ,
even when we were dead in transgressions—
it is by grace you have been saved.”
Ephesians 2:5
The good life is God’s gift, available to all,
who “obey God’s commandments and
remain faithful to Jesus.”
Revelation 14:12
It’s not the occasional good or bad deeds
That determine destiny, but the direction taken
—occasional stumbles don’t count.
Christ’s robe of righteousness
will cover shortfalls in behavior when believers
choose to follow life’s GPS aimed toward
God’s everlasting kingdom.
Christians intuitively reflect God’s perfect character
by living sermons without words.
“Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, humility, self-control,
compassion, and forgiveness. Against
such things, there is no law.”
Colossians 3:12, 13
