After Darwin’s publication of his chance hypothesis, Tennessee acted in 1925 to prevent evolution theory being taught in public schools. The City of Dayton seized the moment to boost its economy by concocting a show trial to test the law. John Scopes, popular high school football coach, agreed to be named Defendant. Dayton City fathers got what they bargained for—The “Monkey Trial” went viral.

In 1999, Genesis File Editor found three grand-old eyewitnesses willing to share vivid memories of the “Scopes Trial.” Their personal accounts provide the riveting theme for “Remembering Scopes.”
